Place Value

We continued our unit on place value today by using base 10 blocks to represent numbers in a different way. Students got some time to create anything they wanted, but had to represent the number of base 10 blocks they used in various forms. It was almost like they forgot they were doing math :)

Terry Fox Run and Donations

Just in case this didn't make it home last night in their backpacks. Information regarding donations will be coming home today or Thursday and we will be collecting up until the day of the race. Thanks everyone.

OPEN HOUSE

Just a reminder that C.P.S open house is tomorrow! Come say hi and enjoy a hot dog from 5:30-7pm. The book fair will also be open during this time.

86,400 dollars everyday!

It was a great day 2 with lots of team building and again reviewing procedures and finishing up some stuff for our time capsule. We also had a great discussion at the end of the day after we watched the first minute of the below video. We talked about how could we spend our 86,400 we get everyday in a positive way. Everyone had great answers, but the past part of our conversation and the part I hope sticks the most is when I asked them what they would do if someone took 10 of their dollars (seconds)? Would they waste the rest of their money (time) trying to get that back when they knew they were going to get another 86,400 tomorrow? We came up with a list of strategies about what we should do when someone "steals 10 seconds" away from us.
